Necessity, Innovation and Passion

The Pandemic has changed our lives in many ways. Industries have risen, fallen and even improved in line with a changed world. Mental health therapy became an industry that was no longer seen as a luxury for a few but as a necessary means of coping for many.

In March of 2021, Dr. Kamathia was acting as a medical advisor to a large airline alliance, Rob Gurney, the CEO. During a break in their schedules, they met to discuss not only how mental health therapy can benefit those involved with airline travel, but people in general. The pandemic had taken its toll creating new stressors…in the airline industry and beyond. The conventional model of delivering therapy was ripe for change.

With years of business and medical experience behind them, they set about identifying areas for improvement.

One by one they tackled these issues and landed on confydr. – – a mental health approach rooted in innovation in the face of necessity built with expertise and passion for the crucial importance of workplace wellbeing.

Studies show how a traditional focus on labeling of mental health disorders can lead to “pigeonholing” and inappropriate treatment solutions.

confydr. transforms this approach to think beyond diagnostic labels and value the individual’s story to effectively personalise therapy.

The vast array of mental health and wellbeing information has led to people confusing their perceived distress as mental health conditions.

The confydr. approach determines effective therapy using professional expertise understanding complex human distress.

There have been persistent barriers to access mental health treatment such as stigma, time and financial constraints.

confydr. takes a fresh approach to how therapy is accessed by offering virtual therapy sessions; guaranteed confidentiality; flexible scheduling and session duration as well as the option to take single therapy sessions.

There is increasing awareness of the close association between gut-health and mood. When it comes to these issues, personalised treatment is essential to positive outcomes.

The confydr. approach considers this association from the outset by navigating employees, for whom this is an issue, to customized therapy that can address this concern.

Choosing a therapist is often stressful and sometimes results in poor choices. Evidence shows that better treatment outcomes come about from a positive connection between therapist and patient.

The confydr. approach leads individuals through this process through guided exploratory questioning with the goal of connecting them with a highly vetted therapist.

Lack of wellness is often an early predictor for mental health illness. Engaging in therapy preventatively ensures better outcomes than reactive approaches.

confydr. provides wellness optimisation by encouraging “take-charge” engagement with nutrition and mental health therapies.
